A home inspection usually varies from $200-$500, and is quite possibly some of the best cash you will invest on your home-to-be. Here are 3 reasons to get a home inspection:
1) It finds issues of safety and work that has been done incorrectly. A home inspector can identify issues such as, structural issues or the crawl space is swarmed with black mold
2) It can help you estimate future expenses & problems. A home inspector will be able to tell you if you will need a new roof in the next few years, if the retaining walls is beginning to break, or the a/c unit is on its way out. All of these tasks may not need immediate attention, but you will need to consider these when determining which home you can manage not only now, but later on.
3) A home inspection gives you an “out.” Making your contract conditional on a home inspection gives you a way out of the agreement, if the residence is not all you had expected it to be. While getting an inspection before an offer is a wise decision, building an inspection concurrent into an offer has its advantages as well.
